Experts feel that scoring well in .IELTS traning test is all about keeping the cool. Nervousness and hesitation generally get in the way of qualifying the exam for most. Further, for the listening module, understanding the instructions properly is the key to success. Many a times in the interview round, candidates fail to understand the examiner and appear dumb. In such cases, it is necessary to assert oneself and ask the examiner to explain the question or read it aloud once more.

IELTS has also been criticized by experts for being too secretive on the ratings. Students often find their scores baffling, as they fail to understand the parameters that judge them.
